CONTEMPORARY TIMBER-CLAD EXTENSION, OXFORD

One of our most favourite of recent projects is this high-end house extension in Oxford where we used a specific larch timber cladding profile with a shadow gap detail to clad the walls along with slimline aluminium windows and doors to achieve what we think is an exceptional appearance. It certainly stands out from the crowd.

Here, we knocked through the existing kitchen and dining room, then extended the rear of the house to result in one, large, open-plan, kitchen/dining/living space connected to the garden for inside/outside living with a roof lantern providing lots of additional natural light. We also renovated and altered the first floor and refitted the bathroom.

Our build team did an awesome job of the finishing details. From the first conversation to the last lick of paint, all designed and built by us.

If you have a similar project in mind, please get in touch, as we’d love to help.

LOFT CONVERSION & KITCHEN EXTENSION, NORTH OXFORD

We recently obtained planning consent for an exciting scheme to extend this family home in North Oxford and we’re hoping to commence the build soon. We’ve been able to create a second floor to this dwelling by extending the existing loft in two directions – a hip-to-gable and a rear dormer roof extension. Then, over the ground floor, we’ve extended to the side, wrapping round to the rear with a single storey extension, which dramatically increases the ground floor footprint and offers a fantastic kitchen/dining/living space connected to a south-facing garden offering plenty of natural light and a vast sense of space.

GARDEN STUDIO, OXFORD

Year Completed: 2016

Location: OX4

Description:

This wonderful garden office space has been designed as a work space but also as a family garden room so is truly flexible. It is packed with insulation and so requires hardly any heating by a simple, glass-fronted electric heater. Fully connected to power and internet, it has a clean, contemporary look with the use of grey aluminium, bifolding doors and Siberian larch cladding with a half-lap profile mitred at the corners, which we think makes all the difference. We love details!

LOFT CONVERSION, OXFORD

Year Completed: 2016

Location: OX4

Description:

This loft conversion to a 1930s semi-detached house in Oxford was great to work on largely because of the client’s excellent taste in final specification and materials – we love the en suite bathroom particularly.  We were able to create some significant additional space in this house by adding a large double bedroom suite with fully insulated and clever storage in every available eaves space.
